On Tuesday, April 23rd, the collective exhibition of the thirty selected artworks for the third edition of the Boit International Illustration Contest titled “Sconfinando Bologna” opened at the Enzo Marioni Civic Library in Santena, Turin (Italy).
The exhibition, which will be open to visitors during the library’s opening hours until May 26th, 2024, aims to be an opportunity for collective reflection through images on what is happening globally in terms of climate and environmental issues.
The artists were asked to participate with an original and unpublished contribution that explored the relationship between inhabitants, cities, and the environment in our near future, interpreting the shape of the walls of Bologna, which resemble a beehive cell.
Out of over 1200 submissions from around the world, 30 works were selected by the esteemed jury composed of Marzia Corraini, founder and director of Corraini Edizioni; Marica Fasoli, Creative Designer of the publishing house Il Saggiatore; Alessandro Manzella, Illustrator and member of the board of the association Autori di Immagini; Elena Pasoli, Exhibition Manager of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair; Della Passarelli, Editorial Director of Sinnos Publishing House; Nicolò Pesce, Creative Director of zeroCO2; Victoria Semykina, Illustrator and internationally renowned artist; Marta Viviani, Illustrator and Creative Director of BOit!
Furthermore, on the occasion of this important event, on May 24th at 4:30 PM, the workshop “Sconfinando Santena” will take place at the Enzo Marioni Civic Library. This workshop is a theoretical and practical journey for children aged 7 and up, led by illustrators Sara Bernardi and Marta Viviani, guiding participants to discover the possibilities related to climate change in their own city.
