The international illustration competition BOit! is progressively building a goal: to inspire the youth through art, conducting a series of workshops that can place children’s imagination at the heart of the project.
The importance of practical workshops has proven crucial as they provide fertile ground to explore the connection between the natural and human world reinterpreted through the eyes of the little ones. In this article, we want to talk about the two Workshops commissioned by the agency WePromo and their significance for BOit!
Exploring Nature with Imagination
During the first workshop, held on November 25, 2023, at the Centroborgo shopping center, we started with classic scientific illustrations of animals, guiding children to invent unique creatures using various techniques (from drawing to collage to creative recycling). Young participants brought to life new fantastic animals, thanks to their free imagination.
BOit’s Silhouette as a Source of Inspiration
For the second workshop, scheduled for December 10, 2023, just before the Christmas holidays, we decided to take inspiration directly from the silhouette of this year’s BOit! edition but always in the context of the competition: children will use the silhouette to create special Christmas greeting cards. The silhouette becomes a window to a new world, where humans and nature can coexist harmoniously: in this magical world, we humans are like guardians of nature, friends of animals, and caretakers of flowers.
Towards the Future of BOit! Labs
The BOit! workshops are not just a means to teach the art of illustration but a platform to nurture the connection between humans and nature reinterpreted through the eyes of children. Always starting from the competition’s underlying themes, these projects are an invitation to imagine and build a future where the balance between the natural and human world is fundamental to our existence.
