Bologna has a long tradition of research on the study of bees: from <strong>Guido Grandi<\/strong>, a world-renowned scholar (to him we owe the <strong>entomological collection<\/strong> of more than 51,000 specimens named after him and preserved at the University of Bologna), to the current role of BiGeA University Department, in expanding the research field on the interaction between <strong>plants and pollinators<\/strong>, and DISTAL University Department, on eco-toxicology and <strong>bees as bioindicators<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Starting from the fundamental role of bees in the functioning and balance of the <strong>ecosystem<\/strong>, we concived the theme of the third edition. The perimeter of the walls of Bologna as the basis for discussing and illustrating an extremely topical, multifaceted and challenging issue: <strong>climate change<\/strong> and &#8211; as a response to it &#8211; <strong>ecosustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4>1. Call for entries! open<\/h4>\n<h4><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><strong> April 15th 2025<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\n    The illustration contest is international and open to both individual and group participants.<br \/>\n    Original and unpublished works can be submitted starting from April 15, 2025.<br \/>\n    The deadline, unless extended, is <strong>11:59 p.m. (CEST) on Friday, August 15, 2025<\/strong>.<br \/>\n    Submissions must be made through the dedicated form in the PARTICIPATE section of this website.\n  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4>2. Outcomes<\/h4>\n<h4><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><strong> <strong> End of June 2023<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The thirty finalist works will be selected by a jury of illustration experts and representatives of the sponsoring institutions. Finalists will be notified directly and announced through the official contest channels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4>3. 3. Awards and exhibitions<\/h4>\n<h4><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><i class=\"arrow right\"><\/i><strong> 2025 &#8230; 2026<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The 30 finalist works will be exhibited in Bologna by 2026.
